IJ franking machines
IJ models are not compatible with Royal Mail 1D services

IS franking machines
IS models are not compatible with Royal Mail 1D services
IS franking machines cannot be updated to produce the 1D barcode for Special Delivery and Signed For services. We are providing users of these machines with a complimentary subscription to simplymail lite. This online application allows customers to produce the new 1D barcode quickly and easily. There is no charge for this solution and customers will continue to benefit from franking prices for these services.
Customers will be provided details of how to register along with simple to-follow steps for using the application.
IN franking machines
IN models are not compatible with Royal Mail 1D services
The IN-range franking machines are unable to be updated to produce the 1D barcode for Special Delivery and Signed For services. We are providing users of these machines with a complimentary subscription to simplymail lite. This online application will allow customers to produce the new 1D barcode quickly and easily. There is no charge for this solution and customers will continue to benefit from franking prices for these services.

iX franking machines
iX models are compatible with Royal Mail 1D services
The latest iX-range of franking machines produce the 1D barcode for Special Delivery and Signed For services.
Customers with these machines have 3 options.
- If the machine was purchased after 15th October 2022, the machine will produce the 1D barcode required.
- If the machine was purchased before 15th October 2022 we are providing users of these machines with a complimentary subscription to simplymail lite. This online application will allow customers to produce the new 1D barcode quickly and easily. There is no charge for this solution and customers will continue to benefit from franking prices for these services. Customers will be provided details of how to register along with simple-to-follow steps for using the application.
- If the machine was purchased after 1st April 2022 and is SMART enabled the machine will produce the 1D barcode required.
